What things cost, before you have to ask.
Every fee below includes the vet's time and the examination. Medicines, laboratory work and anything unplanned are extra and are quoted to you before they happen, not after.

The health plan
£17.50 a month for a dog, £14.50 for a cat, spread over twelve payments. It covers the annual booster and check, all routine flea and worm treatment for the year, two nurse appointments, and takes 20% off dental work and 10% off neutering. It is not insurance — it does not pay for illness, and you still want a policy for that.

Estimates, insurance and paying
Estimates
Anything over £150 gets a written estimate with a range, because an honest range is more useful than a precise number we cannot promise. If the work is going to exceed the top of it, we stop and telephone you first.
Insurance
Payment is due on the day. We complete claim forms free of charge and usually within two working days. Direct claims — where the insurer pays us and you pay the excess — are available for bills over £400 with four insurers; ask at reception which.
Ways to pay
Card, cash or bank transfer. We do not take cheques. For planned work over £600 we can split payment across the month before and the month after, arranged in advance with Marianne.
If money is the problem
Say so early. There is almost always more than one way to treat something, and the cheaper way is often perfectly good medicine. What does not help anybody is waiting until an affordable problem has become an expensive one.
